Patrick Chan fears for skaters’ health in quads era

Canadian figure skater Patrick Chan, pictured at the world figure skating championships in March, believes there is a risk of injury associated with the increase in quadruple jumps being landed in competition.

Men’s figure skating has been caught up in change lately, as the number of quadruple jumps being landed is rapidly mounting with each competition. In an attempt to keep pace, Patrick Chan has been forced to retrain his body. But he fears the injury consequences associated with more quads.
