Bear 148, seen here in an undated handout photo, is a grizzly in the Banff area whose repeated human contacts are threatening its future. Parks Canada officials say the bear is doing its best to live and let live and are pleading with people in the area to take proper bear precautions when hiking or biking in the area.

The hunter that killed a notorious female grizzly bear in B.C. after the bear wandered into the province from Alberta knew the animal was wearing a research tracking collar but shot it anyway.
