B.C. Premier Christy Clark opened the Port Mann Bridge on, December 1, 2012 saying the project was “on budget” but it was actually $572 million over the original fixed price of $2.39 billion.

The B.C. government overpaid millions for the Port Mann Bridge project because there was no rigorous verification of invoicing, timing and completion of work, according to six sources at two separate auditing firms and hundreds of documents leaked to CBC News.
